Our dog Lucy,is terrific. She pointed and retrieved all 20 birds on Saturday. She will go where ordinary dogs won't in order to get a bird. She is exciting to hunt with. Iwant to add a comment, I am John,a friend of Howard's.I was with him last Saturday and was very impressed with Lucy. I highly recommend your kennel and also your professionalism.. It has been a pleasure and a pleasant experience buying one of your super dogs.

Hey Kenzel,

Just wanted to give a update on Molly. Once we got her and she settled in, I started working with her around 15 weeks and she began doing really well, my buddy told me then she would soon make a great bird dog! Everyday I would let her out to get a little exercise she would go straight to the bird bruder and lock down on point for as long as I would let her.

As she continued on that path, I soon realized what a great nose and hunting capability she had. When she was around six months old, I would turn out single birds in a field behind my house. She would find the majority of the birds that were released. Since shes turned a year old (in November) me and my son have been shooting single birds over her and she gets excited more and more each time we go out. Although she has not been taught any retrieving, she is showing a lot of good signs on her own. I have hunted her a few times with experienced dogs and she really shows great potential in becoming one the best dogs I've ever owned!

I would like to thank you for a great dog and a life time of memories that will be made with Molly and in teaching my child the wonderful experience of hunting bird dogs.

Kenzel and Larry,

I want to give you a report on Milty. Milty is everything and more than I had hoped for. Milty possesses all the traits a good dog should have, desire, heart, good nose and will never quit on you.

Milty has a good nose and demonstrates it everytime we go out. He will find the birds and hold his point. I have had to use the shock collar very few times. He responds to the whistle and tries very hard to please. On top of that he is a people dog, he likes his loving and petting.

Milty is a quick learner. I hunt off of a John Deere Gator and it didn't take Milty long to catch on to how I hunt. He will hunt in front of the Gator and watch the Gator as we change directions. Also another very good thing, Milty will self load into the dog box on the Gator. That is a real treat.

Last week I went into a sunflower field and parked. I let Milty out and he took about 15 steps and locked down on a convey of about 15 birds. What is so amazing is he had not been out of the pen in two days and normally a dog goes crazy when let out for the first time. He handled the birds like he had been running for a couple of hours.

As you know this has been a bad year for quail. My place is near Olney, Texas. The drought has wiped out the majority of our birds. Last Friday, my sons and I went hunting. About a week before I had put out 25 pen raised quail. Milty had found one bird and we had moved on to another area. After sometime I lost Milty in the heavy mesquite trees. One of my sons went back to sunflower field and found Milty with a live quail in his mouth. He had found one of the pen raised birds, pointed it and caught it. He knew if he dropped the bird we would never find it, so he continued to hunt with a live bird in his mouth until we could get there. I know he had carried the bird a long time. MILTY IS GREAT !!!!

I will be happy to serve as a reference,.

Hey Kenzel,

Here is a picture of me and Sage with her first birds. This was the 3rd time we went out. The first time, Sage got up plenty of birds, but I just couldn't hit any! The second time I hit one rooster but we couldn't find it. The 3rd time we got these 2 roosters and a grouse. Sage is listening real well. She gets a little excited sometimes and forgets to work back and forth and gets a little ahead of me. That's how we got our first bird. She got out ahead of me and I woahed her. After she stopped I took a couple steps and she went on point. As I walked towards her a rooster got up about 10 feet in front of her. The grouse that I shot was still alive and flopping around. Sage went to it and picked it up. GREAT SIGN!

We went out hunting again a couple days after that and a shot a rooster that was still alive enough to run, but Sage found it! Then we started working again and Sage ran to far ahead so I woahed her again. Again she went on point. This time she was on a hard point, staring right below her. I walked up and kicked around in front of her but nothing got up. I was just ready to go when she went down and came up with a LIVE rooster in her mouth. So that was Sages first bird without firing a shot!

We are having lots of fun and she is doing great! She isn't the biggest fan of the North Dakota weather, but is ok once she gets going.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kenzel,
I just wanted to send you one last update on Sage as the season is over now. Sage has continued to get better every time we went out. She has energy that doesn't quite, and a nose to match. She has been pointing birds beautifully! The last two times we went out she retrieved my birds also. I am very happy with her! THANKS!
Kevin

On January 25th Paul Mahaney of East Lansing, Michigan spent the day with us hunting behind four of our dogs (John, Duke, Missy, and Fancy). We were amazed at Paul's marksmanship. That day Paul bought one of our female pointers, Fancy. Later Paul called back and told us how well Fancy was doing and recommended that we use him as a reference since he was not one of our Texas buddies. We would be glad for you to give Paul a call at 517-204-5447. He might even give you some shooting tips.

Jennifer Klingbeil of Northern California purchased Darcy, a beautiful female English Pointer, that was whelped on 7/7/05. At the time we sold Darcy, we had started whoa training and whistle training. Jennifer says that Darcy learns very quickly and is very social. If you would like to talk to Jennifer about her dog, you can call her at 707-965-2900.

Hello again Kenzel,
Just wanted to show you Miss Darcy in action. She made the front page of her bird dog training website, plus 5 additional shots. Shane is pictured in a couple shots in a camo hat.

Jerry Wright from far East Texas purchased Rough, a male English Pointer, that was whelped on 7/705. He has already taken Rough to the field where Rough found his first covey and held his point. Jerry is well satisfied with the dog. Rough will make him a great hunting dog. If you want to talk to Jerry about his dog, you can call him at 903-539-2787.
